dude....would you cut the shit with printing the words to all the songs? We know them O.K.............
I defend many alleged "Weir" songs, but most of the epic ones(Estimated,L.L.Rain,Supp,Saint,etc) to me are actually Garcia songs. That Motherfucker can really rip on some of those songs when he doesnt have to worry/remember to sing and he can bunker down and handle his shit.I also absolutlely love Garcias back-up cocals....totally different sound than his lead

Tito&Smokey: Sure, no problem; I'll stop posting lyrics if the general consensus of the other members of this Forum agree with you. Otherwise, just skip over reading my posts.

Check this out: "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu (6th c. BC). You can get it for free at "Project Gutenberg:"

Brother Ashes, please keep the lyrics coming. Hunter, Dylan, Barlow...it's all good.

Keep posting lyrics - you and others have turned me on to some Hunter songs I knew nothing about.

Here's some lyrical content for Tito:

Good morning starshine
The earth says "Hello"
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below
Good morning starshine
You lead us along
My love and me as we sing
Our early morning singing song
Gliddy glup gloopy Nibby nabby noopy la la la lo lo
Sabba Sibby sabba Nooby abba nabba le le lo lo
Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba Early morning singing song

Good morning starshine
There's love in your skies
reflecting the sunlight in my lover's eyes
Good Morning Starshine
So happy to see my love and me as we sing
Our early morning singing song
Gliddy glup gloopy Nibby nabby noopy la la la lo lo
Sabba Sibby sabba Nooby abba nabba le le lo lo
Tooby ooby walla nooby abba nabba Early morning singing song

Can you hear me...Singing a song, loving a song Singing along,
loving a song Laughing a song Singing a song,
Sing the song, Song the sing
Song, song, song, sing
Sing, sing, sing, song
Sing, Sing Sing Song Song
Yeah, you can sing sing sing song song....

Sing....

My life is immeasurably richer for having been introduced to the delights of 'gliddy glup gloopy'. Honestly, I had no idea such high flown lyricism was possible, never mind that it existed. I can't thank you enough.

Well, I would have analyzed the same for you as to what I think they mean, but since it is self-evident, I let the lyrics speak for themselves. I only hope Tito enjoys it as much as you.

Marquee Moon is a titanic song, one that I can listen to again and again, but it's one in which the lyrics simply don't stand up to close scrutiny when shorn of the magnificent music that accompanies them. Really they're just there for the way they sound rather than what they mean. Brian Eno took the idea to its nonsense extreme on Miss Shapiro:

Dalai Llama Lama Puss Puss
Stella Maris Missa Nobis
Miss a Dinner Miss Shapiro
Shampoos Pot-pot Pinkies Pampered

Of course. Eno is as dada as they come. From Q magazine July 2001 (questions for Brian Eno):

Marcel Duchamp famously displayed a urinal as a piece of art and I'm told you used it for its original purpose. Is this true?

Yes. I was asked to give a talk at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York and the urinal was part of this show about "low" and "high" art. It cost $30,000 just to insure the thing, which seemed ridiculous. The whole point of the urinal was that it was an almost random piece of hardware which could be easily replaced. I found this to be such a sublime example of commodification that I decided to do something I called re-commode-ification. I sneaked some thin plumbing tubing through a crack in the display glass and had a piss in it.

Damn!
I've always sung it(Good morning star-shine) as
"Gliddy gulp gloopy,
drippy-droppy poopy
la la la.. low low

I stand corrected

Yikes...read above; shocked at some of the latest around here...

I would rather read Hunter or most any song writer--keep it up.
